Pitching A tent on a New Yr 2006
Every year, me & my gang always have to think of where to go and how to have fun on a New Year eve. This year we did something special & i.e. pitching a tent even thou everyone knows that Dec is a raining season. Unit last year, my gang is the usual 4 (me, meow, zz & aili) and they are my polymates. But this year, we had new members coming in & 3 are my ex-colleagues (joyceln aka lim dao dao aka joy2, ahhuang & winnie) and my Fren's colleague (kevin) as well. Coming to a total of 8 for this yr celebration!!! The more the merrier!!!
Organizing this activity is easy but still there are hicups also.. 1st is "Lim Dao Dao" (A nick dunno who gave my fren) Kekeke.. just like her nick. Very difficult to get her to go... Got to ask & ask & ask... but eventually my persistance prevailed...She joined in eventually & Hip Hip Hurray!!!
On 31th Dec 2005 mid afternoon, me & 2 frens (zz & aili) went out to buy all the foods & things required for the BBQ. As this activity is a quite a last minute thing, we could not get any pit. Therefore, we bought a disposable pit. During the process of getting all the stuffs, got news that it was raining heavily at Pasir Ris (2nd Hicup).. Pengz!!! Eventually, we decided to proceed with all the food & see how the weather goes. If it is still raining, we will change the BBQ venue to my fren (aili) hse... but Hengz Ah!!! The weather changed for the good. Stopped raining!!! Eventually we proceeded with the original plan..
It was indeed fun doing all the BBQ. Actually the fun comes from the gathering, doing stuffs together which we so call "production line" e.g. preparing food, serving drinks, bbqing & etc... Of cos not forgetting enjoying each other's company. Those (ahhuang & lim dao dao) who are not staying left at 1am. The rest of us continued our "fun". Played Unos & Risk... but somehow, age & work is goin up, stamina is no longer as good as olden days... Eventually, one by one started to KO ... went to zzz at arnd 4 pluz. Could not really sleep as it started to rain at 4 pluz & the rain lasted for a whole 1 hr... It was until 5 pluz when the rain stopped at daybreak at 6 pluz... Packed up everything & went for breakfast at Mac...
As for me, I reached hm at 9 & KO at 10 pluz after all the cleaning up. Slept a whole lotz of 8 hrs & woke up at 6 pluz.. Kinda of feel that my sunDay was wasted for all the resting.. but no choice I need the rest!!!
I dunno abt the others, but I do enjoy this little gathering. Although sleeping on hard ground & withstanding the coldness from the rain is quite uncomfortable. But it is one experience that we seldom had these days. Given a choice, I will do it again.
